#DRAG Make Music

With the sun hopefully here to stay for a little while longer we’ve created our very own playlist to celebrate the lighter days and nights.

To listen to the gorgeous tunes we’ve come up with just click on the Spotify box below. If you haven’t got Spotify you can download it here.

For those of you who can’t wait we’ve also decided to give you a taste of who and what we’ve chosen.

Look good and feel gorgeous with RuPaul

It’s pretty damn obvious that we couldn’t create a playlist of fabulous divas without including Rupaul. Just look at our RuPaul recaps-it’s clear we are obsessed.  We chose 10. It was pretty difficult to decide, but the great thing about Spotify is that we can just continue adding more! Here are five we just CAN’T stop listening to:

Peanut Butter

I Bring The Beat

Jealous Of My Boogie

We’re crazy in love with our girl Beyonce

Again, no playlist is complete without Queen B. We’ve been nursing our sadness that we didn’t get tickets to see her this spring with lots of YouTube videos and karaoke performances in the shower. We’ve merged Miss B and Destiny’s Child together, and we reckon these will have you working your inner goddess in moments.

Bills, Bills, Bills

Say My Name

Crazy In Love

It’s Britney, b****

If there’s anyone who knows the highs and lows of fame, it’s Miss Spears. We kind of admire her craziness, as well as her no-messin’ attitude on the US X Factor last season. Sure, there’s been bad hair, but seriously, we’ve all been there…not all of us have attacked the paps with an umbrella, but we want to. It’s easy to forget that she was once the BIGGEST artist in the world. We wanted that body.

Gimme More

I’m A Slave For You

I’m Not A Girl (Not Yet A Woman)

Me Against The Music

Lady Gaga reminds us that she likes it rough and she was born that way

Mother Monster: we owe you so much. Her outfits have, at times, left little to the imagination as well as boggled it. There’s no denying that she is an absolute goddess with an incredibly powerful and soulful voice, which can really be appreciated when you watch her live.  In 2008/2009 she brought us into a new world of pop/rock/soul/dance (we’re still not entirely sure) with Just Dance, and quite rightly, she hasn’t looked back.

Born This Way

I Like It Rough

Beautiful, Dirty, Rich

We wanna dance with Whitney Houston

We chose just two songs for our playlist from this sorely missed songstress. We’re still desperately trying to hit that belty note in I Will Always Love You. “AND I-EEEEE-I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOUUUUUU.” – that was us singing by the way. If you’re pining for the thrill of hearing her famous numbers live we suggest taking a trip to see The Bodyguard on London’s Strand.

I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)

How Will I Know

A fool in love with Tina Turner

An icon. A darling who can’t, and won’t, be matched. #Drag writer Antonia has a Tina Turner wig which,we must say, looks amaze. Unfortunately, no one can look, or move, just like TT, but that doesn’t stop us trying.

What’s Love Got To Do With It

The Best

Proud Mary

I Can’t Stop Loving You

A Fool In Love

We desperately want to be loved by Marilyn Monroe

We don’t think the world will ever get over Marilyn. US TV sensation Smash made us fall in love with her all over again, and after listening to her singing we’re longing for expensive jewels. It was the hair, the voice, the curves, the smile, and the mystery. Take a gander at My Week With Marilyn if these songs leave you craving more. It’s one of our favourites.

Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend

I Wanna Be Loved By You

I’m Through With Love

She Acts Like A Woman Should

We’re hung up on Madonna

We can’t believe it’s taken us this long to get to Madge. We’re still undecided on whether she should continue to make music, but there’s no denying that her original songs transformed a generation (or two). We also can’t quite get the Vogue arm movements, nor can we find a super-pointy bra. It’s probably for the best. No one does it like Madonna.

Material Girl

Like A Virgin

Into The Groove

Justify My Love

…and some songs/women that we just can’t live without:

Diana Ross – I Will Survive

Cher – It’s In His Kiss

Doris Day – Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps

Liza Minnelli  Cabaret

Gloria Gaynor  I Will Survive

Christina Aguilera Ain’t No Other Man

Donna Summer – Hot Stuff

Chaka Khan – Ain’t Nobody

Rosemary Clooney – Sway

ABBA – Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
